Seeking to get quick reservations on one of the company discounts that I have access to. Forgot to check the hotel rating first. Never again. Details.
Mixed up my dates on the reservation and showed up on the second confirmed date. Charged for the first day. My bad – no harm done. They charged the remainder of the stay up front. Strange hotel practice, but all right – no harm done.
Let’s open that hotel room door – and take a whiff of that nice almost urinary odor in the room. Should have checked out then.
Puffs dispenser had no puffs – no problem – we weren’t sick, right? But the blasted chrome dispenser had rust spots all over it. I wouldn’t have used the Puffs if they were there.
Remote control TV – NO REMOTE. So as long as you don’t mind clicking Channel UP/DOWN through about sixty channels, you should be able to take your mind off of the hell that is your hotel room. Enjoy!!!
Nice refrigerator and microwave – mental note – considering the smell of the room, you may not want to open either. Observe the intact Dorito on the floor behind the refrigerator. Never know when you may need a midnight snack.
Toilet. Lumpy toilet seat that looked like it was the first one installed with the building back in, oh, maybe 1936?!!! WOBBLY TOILET…lose your balance, and you’ll be sorry. My wife watered the toilet, wiped and flushed. AND THE TOILET CHOKED. Spent about ten minutes plunging the toilet with no results. Considering this is a Thanksgiving stay, we probably should not stay here long.
Shower. Suspicious floor. Will not be showering here. Mold on the ceiling above the shower head and around the shower head. Strips of ceiling wallpaper hanging down from around the mold as if – gasp – someone attempted to conceal something undesirable.
Basin. Opted out of the comforting shower in what surely could have been rickets waiting for the feet. Using the sink. Water backing up into the sink. Is there working plumbing anywhere in this place???
Curtains. What are those round, back-lit forms in the curtains. Would those be peep holes?
In conclusion of a terrible stay, we checked out first thing in the morning. Never mind the remaining time on the reservation. And give me that day back, please. Sent electronic complaint to the hotel.
