Bad Hotel stories Good Hotels SEND YOUR HORROR STORY Bloomington MN. We
recently stayed at a Residence Inn by Marriott hotels in Bloomington MN.
We decided upon this hotel because it is close to the Mall of America
destination. Also because they accept pets. Initially I noticed
large white stains on the hallway carpets upon making our way to our room.
I wrote it off as being some kind of stain caused by pets, although I have to
say it could very well have been something nasty from a human. About 30
min. after checking in, the power inside the entire hotel went off. No air
conditioning (it was about 85 degrees and we had our little dog with that had to
stay in the hot room). No elevators, and no back-up lights on the hotel
stairs (which we had to go down 5 flights of in the dark to make our way to the
bottom floor). I do not know how long power was out because we went on to
the mall. I had not noticed when we arrived, but there were some kind of
low-income-housing projects directly across the street from the hotel.
When I took my bichon outside to walk him, an african american young man was
playing basketball in the front of the hotel on the hotel's basketball court.
He had come across the street from the housing projects to play on the hotel's
basketball court. I do not know if he had permission from the staff or
not, as I headed inside with my dog he stopped me and asked me bluntly for
sex. I am a 19 year old white female, and I was quite nervous as he
persisted and told me that he would get me drunk and 'only take 15 minutes'
I was shocked, and I can honestly say this experience ruined my entire day.
The room itself was okay, but I would be afraid to leave the room without
someone accompanying me.
